“No space, architecturally, is a space unless it has natural lighting.”
Louis Kahn

Natural light is a divine source for spiritual values and the human
soul.  Artificial lighting also needs to address the social and physical
requirements of human beings, but most of all to evoke delight.  Light
is the soul of architecture. The study of light, in harmony with space
and volume, is an important part of the different stages of building
and its understanding. Light discovers geometry and can impose a
poetic discipline of complex layers of perception.
